GENERAL INFORMATION

 Nursery

BUXTON

WHALEY BRIDGE

Description

Our Buxton nursery occupies five spacious rooms on the ground floor at Charis House on Hardwick Square East. It has its own private entrance and is accessible by Wheelchair. Outside is an all-weather soft play area and children's adventure garden.

A spacious indoor play area ensures that children don't miss out on active play when the weather is unsuitable for outdoor play. Activities include climbing frames, trampoline, slides and ride-on toys.

Each unit has a special area for the 'Messy' activities that children love so much. These include water and sand play and free painting.

Our Whaley Bridge nursery is situated on Old Road, at the premises of Good News Church. We occupy the entire lower ground floor, with a private entrance to the rear and a fully equipped outside play area.

Inside there are areas for role-play, construction, art/craft, a sensory trough and a quiet book area. We cover the areas of the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) through predictable and child-initiated interests. Our planning covers one area of the EYFS per week, with focussed activities differentiated for each child's stage of development. Each child has a Key Person who is responsible for supporting and recording that Child's development and working with the family/carers, to help the child achieve their full potential.

Additional information

We serve the local community by providing high quality pre-school education for all children - regardless of their parent/carer's financial status. Costs must be covered, of course, but profit is not what motivates us. Parents who are experiencing financial difficulty are encouraged to talk to our nursery supervisor - and not stop bringing their child, (or hesitate to register them for a place). We do our best to help in cases of genuine hardship.
All members of staff are experienced childcare professionals with qualifications of NVQ level 3 equivilant or above and an experienced pool of supply staff. We are an Ofsted registered nursery and work alongside a range of different professionals and organisations.
