Want to help Good News Family Care? Here's some suggestions:

YOUR PRAYERS

"The prayer of a righteous man is powerful and effective" (James 5:16)

PPraying handsrayer is the 'engine' that powers the ministry of Good News Family Care - that's why we encourage Christians everywhere to pray for us. If you can spare a little time to pray on a regular basis, why not consider becoming a Prayer Partner?

Being a Prayer Partner is way that anyone to support us - young, old, rich, poor, physically handicapped or able bodied. As a Prayer Partner you will receive occasional Prayer Letters outlining specific issues that need prayer. If you want to support us in this way send an email to:

YOUR TIME

If you are a Christian, living in or near Buxton, why not consider becoming a volunteer? It doesn't matter how much time you have to spare - or even whatClock talents you possess - there is sure to be a way you can help.

There are always jobs to be done - such as cleaning, shopping, painting, decorating, and maintenance, but we also want to hear from people who can offer a warm heart and a sympathetic ear to our clients.

We also need people to answer the door and phone, people to help with children after school - and other tasks. (

FINANCIAL SUPPORT

£ coinsGood News Family Care aims to be as 'self-financing' as possible but there's always a shortfall between operating costs and income. In spite of that, nobody is ever turned away from our doors due to lack of funding. If God sends a family to us we know we can rely upon him to provide the means. Since we opened in 1995 He has inspired many churches, companies, trusts, institutions and individuals to give us their support.

Of course our need for financial support is on-going: we need your continued support to develop and maintain existing facilities and to fund new projects such as our Skills Training Projects and freedom2live our dependency recovery initiative. We can only help God rebuild broken lives with your support.

There are three ways you can make financial donations:

(1) Send a cheque or postal order (payable to "Good News Family Care") to:

GNFC, Charis House
Hardwick Square East
Buxton, Derbyshire SK17 6PT

If you are a British tax payer click here to download a Gift Aid form This will enable us to recover tax already paid on your donations from the Inland Revenue - at no extra cost to you. (Adobe Reader required).

(3) you can to request a donation form to be sent by post

DONATING GOODS

We welcome gifts of Food, Clothing, Soft Furnishings, Furniture, Electrical Goods, Office Equipment, Toys, Kitchenware, Cutlery etc. Donations of this kind are not only useful in themselves, they release funds for use in other vital areas. Please check our Guide to Donating Goods before delivering. One thing is certain: nothing is wasted - what we don't use directly we pass on to needy families or sell to raise funds. If you would like to receive our current 'Wish List' send an email to

We have support from local churches too and at Harvest Festival time we receive lots of lovely fresh produce and groceries.

Perhaps among our more unusual supporters are "The Bikers" - an amiable bunch of motorcycle enthusiasts who visit us from time to time, usually laden to the gills with Toys for the children or Easter Eggs (click here to photos) We all look forward to their morale-boosting visits and many children (and parents!) benefit from their generosity.

Another way you can support us is by saving "collectables" such as Postage Stamps and Foreign Currency - click here to find out more.

If you have items you wish to donate, such as furniture or clothing, please contact 01298 24761

If you have office equipment or computers, contact 01298 24761
